Wilftonville's Endless Year Of Awards: Intro

2008 wasn’t a particularly blinding year for music. The top 40 became more bogged down with remixed dance songs than ever before, and creativity seemed to take a backseat to controversy as Amy Winehouse and Katy Perry stomped their way across the headlines for various reasons unconnected to music. On top of all this, returning heavyweight bands such as Coldplay, Snow Patrol, and Oasis released incredibly underwhelming albums. There wasn’t much good to listen to, but it wasn’t all as bad as we’re making out. There was some good news, and there were several fantastic songs, albums, and artists who emerged over the course of the year. And, over the course of 2009, Wilftonville is going to reward them for their hard work with fictional prizes in what will be the longest award ceremony on the internet. Fun, eh?

  1. Nice change to the layout. The coloring is very nice. Also, can we give the "Comeback...then Leave Again" award to Britney Spears?
